Rip-off!

Unfortunately, I purchased this pamphlet in January before the previous reviewer posted his warning. He is absolutely correct. The pamphlet is essentially an advertisement and solicitation for the American Atheists. There are several legitimate books on Hubert Henry Harrison on this website. This is not one of them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

Please do not by this book. It is not a book at all only a three page pamplet and is a rip off! Hubert Henry Harrison is worth so much more and you should do your home work and find a real book about his life and works.

6. Because nuclear power’s true costs are lower than either fossil fuels or renewables

Frankly the replies ignore the basic science involved in Nuclear power generation. Take point 5 for example, that producing nuclear power will increase the risk of nuclear war. The idea that spreading the technical capacity for nuclear power could spread the risk of nuclear war ignores several realities. First, that the knowledge of how to produce a nuclear weapon is spread widely through out the world. We cannot put that knowledge away now. On the other hand, the production of nuclear power burns the U235 that could be used for a uranium bomb. You need a concentration of U253 above 95% to make a usable weapon. Most countries that desire a nuclear bomb obtained one BEFORE building a Nuclear Power generation plant. This is because to make Uranium at the concentration necessary does NOT require a Nuclear Power Plant. To make the Plutonium necessary requires a totally different type of reactor than a power reactor. good early work by Chester Brown

I discovered Chester Brown with his 2011 book "Paying For It." The trade was so well done that I ended up buying a lot of his other work (as well as Joe Matt's (who appeared in different sections of "Paying For It")). Brown's "I Never Liked You" is an honest look back at an early teenage relationship that takes place around the same time that Chester's mother dies. "Louis Riel" is about Western Canadian history in the mid to late 19th century, and is an absolutely stunning piece of writing and history.

Brown wrote "The Playboy" in the early 90's, and it has been put together and released as a comprehensive trade for the first time in ten years. Chester is exceedingly insightful and honest -- he is the ultra-rare autobiographer who does not attempt to cover up his flaws in order to have his readers view him more favorably. He puts pen to paper (just the facts), bares his soul and tells a story.

This story is about his love of Playboy magazine, and how he felt guilty each time after buying it. He would bury them in the woods or burn them, but then inevitably he would go out and buy the next issue. He details how Playboy shaped him sexually (both good and bad). Like his other work, he provides detailed endnotes.

Short and honest, but not groundbreaking

I read this super-short graphic memoir because I enjoyed the author's Paying for It earlier this year. This one centres around the shame and guilt that the author felt when enjoying Playboy magazine as a teenager in the 1970s. I feel bad for teenaged boys before the internet. But the basic concept, while sad, wasn't nearly as thought-provoking as that of Paying for It, where Brown decides to start hiring prostitutes. There were some amusing moments, like when he tries to burn a magazine in the family living room, but finds that it only blackens, and then his little brother walks in, and the author has to pretend that he's just playing with the fire while he's actually burning each page separately (and then he can't sleep from worrying that the charred spine might still be recognizable). But mostly I just felt bad for him, which might have been what he was going for. One of his girlfriends describes a friend's porn use as "disgusting" and says that it makes him a "pig". So then Brown can't even be fully honest or confident in his own relationships, but always feels like he has something to hide. I guess this helps me see why he ended up taking the route he did later in life, preferring prostitutes to girlfriends. But there's nothing really revelatory here.

What a HOT read this was! Oh wow do I love me some Nick Frost! hell yes!!! He's so sexy and bad and I love him and I loved Kris too, but in a different way. Great story that draws you in. Good length of book not too short. The magical scenes where they are flying through the air in Santa's sleigh were amazing. The ménage sex scenes alone are worth buying the book for, but there is character depth and a good plot too. Yes, this is a romance, but unlike any love story most of us will ever encounter.

This is a delightful combination of adorable characters, festive magic and vivid menage romance. Ms Whitefern creates intensity throughout with internal and external conflicts which keep the reader turning pages.
Lilly is a strong yet vulnerable love, Nick is smoking dom hot and Kris is the man you'd want as a bfwb! Add to this delightful trio the evil sibling, the fascinating birdmen (conjured images of the winged men from Flash Gordon) and the heat that happens just about everywhere (Xmas cards with pics of Santa's sleigh will never look the same, nor will rooftops) and you've got a thoroughly enjoyable combination!
Xmas may be months away but read this and you'll recapture your festive spirit...or is that festive half-fae? ;-)

A tell it like it is book

This is excellent in that we had to take a good hard look at what we dreamed of doing in another part of the world..Yes the notion of living in Tuscany is very inviting..but if you are not a negotiator or have the patience to work on a project like buying or leasing from a foreign agent ..you will be very disappointed.. The book pointed out the paper work and the slow pace that they work at in Italy.. ANd we as Americans

have a tendency to demand results now..and it just doesn't work that way.

If if you had a rich relative in Italy that left you a place. I would probably take years and several translators to get the job done..It opened out eyes to situations we had not been aware of..i am so glad we bought this book..Vry honest and down to earth..covers everything...

Don't bother if you're an American!

This book is all but useless to residents of the US looking for good information about moving to Italy. The book is mostly for residents of EU countries, England most specifically. Altho there are a few items of general interest, and some mention of things pertaining to US citizens, I think it would be a waste of money for anyone who needs serious, current advice. Please note the the 2 favorable reviews are from people who are not US citizens. Save your money!
