Jörg A. Stryk, born 1971, works with MS Dynamics NAV - formerly Navision - since 1997, knowing the product since version 1.20. Being Project-Manager, Consultant, Developer or Supporter on MS Partner-site and NAV Customer-site, as well, he has thoroughly explored nearly all areas from the application and its technology. Since 2003 he is focusing on Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting, especially when it comes to NAV with MS SQL Server. As Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Business Management Solution Specialist (MCBMSS) he supports MS Dynamics Partners and Customers within their NAV projects - worldwide! In recognition of his valuable participation in various NAV communities he received the Microsoft award Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for MS Dynamics NAV in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The British Dynamics Community "Dynamics World" (www.dynamicsworld.co.uk) voted him on rank #38 of the "Top 100 Most Influential People in the Dynamics World 2009".

Great book!

I bought this book because I read the previous edition and I want to acquire more knowledge about the NAV and SQL interactions. This book will help you setup a SQL instance correctly, Find issues quickly and it gives you hints on how to solve the issues.
I think this is a must read for every NAV Developer or NAV technical consultant.
Hopefully the author will update the book for the new execution stack of NAV shortly.

Great book, but impossible to get the right version from Amazon

After receiving the 2.03 version / 3rd edition three times now (about 150 pages) I start to wonder if Amazon will ever manage to send the current 4th version (about 180 pages).
At some point they must be running out of stock on the 3rd edition...
Nevertheless the book is a great recourse for anyone working with NAV/SQL.
It is easy to read, has good examples and no matter your level of experience you will surely learn some very usefull things.

This book really is a must have. Its full of tons of really useful stuff. Either its information that you already know, but its all in one place, or its things you should know.
